About me

Robin Hopper has been an educator for over 30 years. Most recently she has served in the elected position as Mariposa County Superintendent of Schools in Mariposa, CA, overseeing the Mariposa County Office of Education and the Mariposa County Unified School District. Robin is committed to creating an environment that is conducive to the highest levels of teaching and learning by fostering a culture of trust, mutual respect, and high expectations among all stakeholders in the school and district community and by ensuring that all stakeholders are able to function in a safe and supportive setting.

Under Robin’s leadership student achievement has risen significantly compared with the state average, while suspension and expulsion rates, and special education numbers have decreased substantially. Through Robin’s initiative and support the schools in Mariposa County have earned multiple prestigious awards for their outstanding academic, college and career, performing arts and athletic programs.

Developing an excellent leadership team is central to creating the right conditions for learning. Working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, student leaders, and community members is a hallmark of Robin’s leadership style.

Educational advocacy is everyone’s responsibility, according to Robin. In order to attain improved teaching and learning in our schools, and provide equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities for ALL students, we must engage in discourse and action within our communities and with our local, state and national leaders to promote increased support for our public schools.
